OUr Products Dense Soda Ash | Sodium Percarbonate | Hydrogen Peroxide

Sodium Percarbonate - All the cleaning power you’ll ever need.

What’s in a name? Provox™ = Trust. Quality. OCI.

You probably use sodium percarbonate every day.

Sodium percarbonate (also known as sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate, PCS, and sodium carbonate peroxide) is created when soda ash becomes a carrier of the hydrogen peroxide. Its main use is as a bleaching agent in laundry detergent powder. The food processing industry also uses sodium percarbonate as a disinfectant, and sometimes as a bleaching agent. Unlike other bleaching agents, sodium percarbonate contains no chlorine, boron, or other ingredients that are harmful to the environment.

Sodium Percarbonate Markets and Applications

Laundry
You’ll find sodium percarbonate in powdered detergents, tablets, and powdered bleach. OCI has also developed a liquid form of sodium percarbonate.

Automatic Dishwashing
Both powdered dishwashing detergents and tablets use sodium percarbonate.

Personal Care
This industry relies on the natural bleaching power of sodium percarbonate for toothpaste, denture cleaning tablets, and dental bleaching products (both clinical and self-applied).

Hard Surface Cleaners
Sodium percarbonate can be used in many ways within this sector, both indoor and outdoor: Scouring powders, drain cleaners, dishwasher stain cleaners, hot tub/swimming pool tablets, and deck cleaners all contain sodium percarbonate.

Pulp Processing
Hardwood mechanical pulps can be treated with sodium percarbonate.

Water Treatment
Keeping water clean, drinkable, or safe for public use is a ideal job for sodium percarbonate. It’s used as an algaecide in public fountains, to treat standing water, clarifying water by eliminating micro-organisms, and as an application to factory effluents.

Disinfectant
Sodium percarbonate is a favored choice for cleaning dental systems.

Mold Remediation
Mold spores are no match for the bleaching power of sodium percarbonate.
